Many artists are gifted at writing witty descriptions of
their work.   I am not one of those artists.   I simply love
what I do.   I am inspired by the simple beauty that
surrounds me.

Born in Lawndale, California, Geri Ann Tiffany was moved
with her family in 1976, to the Santa Ynez Valley, just
north of Santa Barbara. I have been drawing since I was 9
years old, and have nurtured the natural gift to draw ever
since. Although I have had no formal training in the arts, I
have been greatly influenced by Robert "
Shoofly" Shufelt
and Frank McCarthy.  All of my drawings are carefully
thought out months before the pencil ever hits the paper.
I use a wide range of graphite drafting pencils to create
each piece of work.  Each blank piece of paper is carefully
selected to make sure there are no flaws within the paper.
I choose Bristol Board paper, with a Vellum finish.
I knew at an early age that my passion was art. My interest in the West manifested itself through
childhood drawings, and impressions gathered while growing up in a small town, rich with
ranching history. A self-confessed dreamer, I strive to go beyond just the basic techniques of
drawing, trying to convey the mood and feeling of the subject within all of my drawings.  I hope
that my pencil drawings make the art come to life.  In doing so, I want my sensitivity and
painstaking eye for detail to give my work a depth and dimension that is truly unique.  I truly
paper.

I am actively involved with the San Benito Arts Council, Santa Ynez Valley Artists Guild,
American Plains Artist Society and Women Artists of the West. My newest accomplishment, and
one that I am most proud of is the invitation to be a member of the
Southwestern Premier Artists.

I recently have found room to challenge myself with Quick Draw events. This
time-challenged drawing is exciting and fun, and has helped me to evolve with
my drawing style.   This past August, 2010, I challenged myself even more by
hosting a drawing class of 11 students!  I currently show my artwork on select
weekends at Bridlewood Winery in Santa Ynez, California.  My artwork has
made its way into the hearts and homes of several art collectors throughout
the country.

To find out more about me, feel free to read the front page article about me in
the
Santa Ynez Valley Journal!
